Our History

Citizens Transfer & Storage Co., Inc., the oldest moving company in Southern Arizona, has enjoyed steady growth and gained a reputation as the Tucson moving company that consistently offers prompt, dependable service. The company, which celebrated its 115-year anniversary in 2022, has seen many changes throughout its years of service and has played an active role in making Tucson what it is today. In 1907, when Arizona was still a territory, three Tucson businessmen opened Citizens Transfer as a local drayage and cartage company to transfer goods and freight within Southern Arizona. Important goods arrived in Tucson by train, and the company relied on horses and wagons to transport the goods from rail cars to homes and businesses in the area.

FAQ's

CBA storage prices vary as to the number of containers customer has for storage. Prices start at $0.32 per cubic ft. but can go as low as $0.27 per cubic ft. with a $32.50 minimum for storage. All potential accounts below 1500 containers should be quoted the standard ($0.32 per cubic ft.) price for storage. If per chance you should run into a larger quantity, please call me for a standard tariff for storage.
All cartons are barcoded as well as the shelves and are scanned on and off the shelves for tracking. One of the first items you must find out if the customer has an inventory of his/her items or if they would like us to create one for them. We call this internal or external indexing. Obviously, it is less expensive for the customer to keep track (external indexing) of the contents within their boxes. However, if we provide an inventory (internal indexing) of files within the customers containers, client should be notified that all files must be clearly marked for inventory, IE: last name, first name, date of birth, medical number, file number. CBA is very flexible as to the clients needs for internal indexing but we are only as good as the information the client provides for said inventory.

Yes. CBA has many clients that take advantage of this. Customer may already have someone out of the office running other errands. This could possibly save the client delivery/pick up fees.
CBA does not provide liability insurance. All archive materials under our care are limited to a legal liability of $0.03 cents per pound per container. Many clients choose the option to purchase additional insurance through a company of their choice.
Fire protection at CBA is a zoned sprinkler system. That is, if my records in the southwest corner are on fire, your records in the northeast corner are fine.
Yes, we follow all HIPPA guidelines.
CBA has always and will continue to have a no appointment necessary policy with potential clients.
